My Journey Back To The Gym

It’s been 5 weeks since I stepped foot back into a gym and I’m so stinkin’ proud of myself!! I started out my first week with just 2 Strength (Lifting) Classes.  My second and third weeks I did 4 classes each week which included both Strength and HIIT classes.  I tweeked something in my back so I had to modify things a bit.  My 4th week, I was at the gym working out 5 days and then this week I will be doing the same…5 60 minute workouts.

It’s just crazy to think how far I’ve come so far! I’m getting stronger.  I’m losing inches and weight. I am also feeling pretty darn good about myself.  I am loving my workouts and I love the challenges.  I have an awesome workout partner.  We workout really well together! I suggest getting a workout buddy!! It really helps.

Aside from my daily workouts, I’m also tracking my macros and calories every day.  I also walk at least 20 minutes daily and strive to get in my 10,000 steps every day.  This is a job that requires a degree that I do not possess.  It’s so hard to get all of the numbers just right but I think I’m on the right track.  I’m also drinking a gallon of water per day (or at least trying to).  I drink at least one Isagenix Isalean protein shake per day (somedays I do 2). I’m staying away from refined carbs and sugars as much as possible and just choosing healthier food choices.

My muscles were really sore…and I mean REALLY sore…in my first week, I have really enjoyed this journey so far and it’s just beginning.  It hasn’t been as difficult as I expected.  Once I set my mind to doing something though, I don’t look back.  I’m pretty determined to get fit and train hard.

My transformation so far. I can't believe the difference! From April on the right to May on the left.

I have been telling myself for many years that I don’t have time to workout.  I just wasn’t ready.  You have to be mentally prepared for something like this.  If you’re not committed, then you won’t be successful and you won’t stick with it.  I lose about 2 hours out of my day 5 days a week because of my workouts but it’s so worth it.  The rewards far out way the time I’m losing.  If you are struggling to commit to daily exercise, reach out to me! I’d love to tell you more about my story and I’d love to hear yours and maybe I can motivate you to get your booty moving more!

Have a happy, healthy day!

~Michelle
